Denpasar, Bali

I’m close to touching down at Denpasar International Airport in Bali, Indonesia. I’ve been travelling for nearly 24 hours and have lost over 15 hours with the time change. I left San Francisco Tuesday night and will find my feet on the ground on Thursday afternoon. The flights have gone surprisingly smooth considering I already tackled the 13 hour plane flight from San Fran to my connection in Taiwan no problem with the help of the great state of California. A departure time of midnight mixed with about five pot cookies and half a joint meant that I shut my eyes halfway through take off—didn’t toss or turn, barely moved an inch—and woke up eight solid hours later with only an average five hour flight to consciously sit through. The confusion and delight was almost too much! I connected in Taipei, Taiwan, around 6am, got to have a good, long conversation on the phone with my love while I stretched and waited for my one more five hour flight to the island.

an excerpt from my personal journal :

“i’m ready. i’ll have a day to ground myself and then training starts. the self doubt has dissipated and the only thing left running through my body is excitement. i keep reminding myself that this is just the beginning. that the training will end and i will still have two weeks to explore. that is when the real self study begins. and even after my time on the island comes to a close and i head back to the states, my second training will start not long after.
the work begins when i step off this plane”

with gratitude,

sarah
